Komako Peonies and Cottage Garden Accommodation
|
Situated on 'Idylwild' property (right on the rail trail), Komako is the original name of Waipiata and translates to 'Bellbird'. The original homestead was built in 1916 by early settlers, the Mathias family, and is now owned by Heather and Grant, who purchased the property 13 years ago and have developed this stark 10 acre block with into a slice of paradise with their peonies and restored heritage accommodation.
Sleep in historic rooms amongst the garden, rest your legs and enjoy true southern hospitality. Our unique Central Otago heritage is beautifully preserved with converted railway and bank buildings and the homestead’s original rimu tool shed. All tastefully decorated, in fitting with the time of when the trains still ran and gold filled the hills.
A unique and relaxing experience is assured. Immerse yourself in our world of difference - historical and garden tours, gourmet BBQ or drinks and nibbles on the deck overlooking the majestic Maniototo.
3 rooms available September to May, sleeping queen, double and single and two singles. Full linen and breakfast supplied, modern kitchen and bathroom facilities available.
Komako Cottage Garden Accommodation is proud to be associated with the Central Otago - A World of Difference brand and look forward to providing you with an experience of difference.
