CONDITIONS OF ENTRY


  1. All entries/nominations will be acknowledged on receipt.
  2. Nominations received after the closing date (5pm, Thursday 18 May 2017) will not be considered.
  3. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No employee of the Council, members of the Council or Districts’ Community Boards shall be entitled to enter.
  4. Due diligence may be carried out where required.
  5. Judges reserve the right not to present an award when a suitable selection cannot be made.
  6. Finalists and recipients will receive three complimentary tickets to the Awards Ceremony.
  7. Award winners may state in advertising / promotional activity and on their stationery that they are a winner but this must include the category and the year in which the award was won.
  8. Unless otherwise noted, all entry material becomes the property of Central Otago District Council.
  9. Business Excellence Award and Apprentice Award entrants agree to attend an interview with the judging panel.
  10. Entrants in the Business Excellence Award must include a signed statement from their accountant confirming that the business is financially sound.
  11. If a nominee in the Community Service Award has received payment or other remuneration, then the Judging Panel shall determine whether, in its view, the nominee’s action was carried out as part of these remunerated responsibilities or was sufficiently beyond the call of duty to warrant special recognition.
  12. Nominations for the Community Service Award cannot be submitted by any serving elected member of Council or its Community Boards.
  13. Apprentice Award nominations must be completed by someone that currently has, or had in the past, a direct working relationship with the candidate i.e. company training coordinator, assessor or senior manager.
  14. All entries will be treated in confidence.
  15. By entering the Central Otago Awards you are agreeing to the above conditions.
