The Central Otago Environmental Society Inc. is an environmental advocacy organisation founded in 2007 by a group of Central Otago residents who share a common concern for the qualities that make Central Otago a "Special Place".
Since then our membership has been steadily growing; and new, interested people are always welcome to contact us.
Our aim is the protection and preservation of the natural landscape and character of Central Otago. We want to raise awareness of issues concerning the resources, heritage and landscape of Central Otago with the wider public.
We want to encourage statutory authorities to establish policies and make decisions that will preserve and enhance the special character of Central Otago’s landscapes, heritage and resources for the benefit of future generations. And why do we care? Because it’s our World of Difference.
