2009 Central Otago Award Winners
Excellence, passion and commitment were the distinguishing features of the winners of the 2009 Central Otago Awards announced at a special function held at the Ranfurly Stadium on 30 September.
An enthusiastic audience helped to celebrate and honour Central Otago’s champions and the contribution they make to our district.
Central Otago District Council Mayor Malcolm Macpherson said “The Central Otago Awards are about showcasing our best. All of our finalists here tonight are great role models. They are people making a difference.”
“As witnessed here tonight, the 2009 Central Otago Awards showcase the excellence that is being achieved throughout the district. We not only want to recognise the initiatives and celebrate their accomplishments, we want to encourage the development of future initiatives. Congratulations to tonight’s winners, and I look forward to a similar high standard of entry for the 2010 Awards.”
